For The Ladies: Rocking Your ShePower – Everybody Can’t Go Where God is Taking You.

broken road

The actual wording in the above mentioned quote is, “Baby, everybody can’t go where God is taking you.” It was said to me by my mother years ago when I came to her with concern over why a relative couldn’t receive the blessing I was trying to share.

We have a powerful act we gift to others called “paying it forward.” By “paying it forward,” we become a blessing to someone out of gratitude for being blessed ourselves. Now, here in lies the lesson. Not everyone can or will receive the blessing. There are times we will try and give to someone who is unable to accept for whatever reason. Some are afraid of success, some don’t want to come out of their comfort zone, and some are conditioned to believe life has nothing better for them than what they currently have.

In “paying it forward,” we must learn to accept that not everyone will receive with excitement, the gift we have. As we readjust our thinking and forge alliances with like-minded women and men in order to grow, some people in our circle will fall away. If these people are loved-ones or long time friends, it can be difficult to let go and sometimes we want to hold on, but as my mother said, “Baby, everybody can’t go where God is taking you.”

Letting go of people and sometimes things as we move forward can be uncomfortable for us but is necessary for growth. In advancement, we move from one level to the next. As we are elevated, we will encounter individuals of different calibers, each more competent in their field than the one before. These persons are placed in our path to guide as well as mentor us on our journey.

Those who climb mountains will tell you that the higher you climb the thinner the air becomes. I believe this is why only the Eagle flies as high as it does. Again I say, “Baby, everybody can’t go where God is taking you.” It takes a certain character, tenacity and fortitude to scale a mountain or soar on Eagles wings. As you Rock Your ShePower and go hard for your dreams, and forge collaborations with like-minded women and men, remember “Baby, everybody can’t go where God is taking you.”

Anatomy of A Stalker: Meet Arial Carrington, Asha’s secret weapon.

one eye

There is an old saying that goes, “You saved the best for last.” Well, that’s exactly what we have done when it comes to me. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Arial Carrington and I’m Asha’s twin sister and her secret weapon.

I’ve stood back and watched as my sister was disrespected and stigmatized over her love for Carter. He is such a hypocrite; living a clandestine life. By day he’s devoted to his so called love, Taryn but when the sun goes down he finds his way to Asha’s bed. Well, I’ve watched this charade long enough; I won’t remain quiescent any longer. It’s time to take action.

Poor Carter and his crew, he has no idea I exist. He’s about to get a rude awakening. Not only do I have plans to vindicate my sister but I’m bringing back-up, the twins Doniel and Dillon. Those two alone are a force to be reckoned with.

Herein lie the lessons, Mr. Woodson is about to learn: 1. Never assume someone is alone just because you don’t see them with family or friends. 2. Don’t underestimate the resources available to anyone. 3. (This is the most important of all) All goodbyes ain’t gone, and all closed eyes ain’t sleep. In other words Carter, watch your back because I’m coming for you.

Anatomy of A Stalker: Asha Carrington has her final say.

one eye

I find it amusing that everyone has an opinion about my relationship with Carter. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1000 times, I’m in love with him and he’s in love with me. Carter’s just a little shy with his feelings which is why he keeps them under wraps, but when we’re alone, he holds nothing back. Our lovemaking is through the roof.

There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for Carter and there’s nothing, he would withhold from me. The sooner his nosy brother, sister-in-law and the rest of his so-called crew get it through their heads, I’m not going anywhere, the better off they will be.

I think this is a good place to let you in on a secret.  Carter’s friends, Jude and Holmes came on to me. When I rejected their advances, both pleaded with me not to tell Carter. You should have seen the way they groveled and begged once I rebuffed them, although a romp in the bed with Jude was tempting. Yes, I’m not only desirable to my man but his buddies as well. Ha!

Now, here-in lies the finality of all things Asha and Carter. Our love is timeless and will transcend any criticism or attempt at thwarting it’s existence.  I said it once and I’ll say it again, so pay attention. I love Carter and Carter loves me. We will be together for the rest of our lives. Accept it people!

Carter never dreamed he’d have to look over his shoulder until he met Asha.  A woman with alluring eyes and a mysterious past who is hell-bent on having Carter regardless the cost.

Anatomy of A Stalker: Meet Detective Holmes

one eye Good afternoon. I’m Detective Maurice Holmes of the Chesterfield County Police Department but people just call me Holmes. I was assigned to the case of J. Carter Woodson to solve a stalking situation. I take each of my cases seriously but this one in particular hit close to home.  A dear family member of mine encountered a stalker and lets just say, it didn’t end well, so when I was presented this job, I didn’t hesitate. My first priority is to my client and his loved ones. I want to ensure not only Mr. Woodson’s safety, but that of his beautiful fiancée as well. My second priority is to find that skank stalking Carter or to be professional should I say perpetrator and take her down. I understand there is someone for everyone, and perhaps she felt Carter was her someone, but no means no. What people need to understand is you can’t just push yourself on another human being. Ladies and gents too, if they ain’t interested, they ain’t interested. Take yo monkey-ass on somewhere and keep it moving. With that being said, wrap your mind around this; if you break the law in my jurisdiction and my colleagues and I pursue you, you will go down.  Asha Carrington is an elusive trick but rest assured, I will find her no matter how long it takes. When I do, I’ll ensure she rots in jail for many years to come.

Anatomy of A Stalker: Meet Bre Anderson

one eye

Hello there, my name’s Bre. I’m the fiancee of Matthew Woodson and future sister-in-law of Carter Woodson. Like my fiance, I’m very direct; that being said, I can’t stand Asha. The minute I laid eyes on her on the yacht, I know she was up to no good. It was obvious in the aggressive manner in which she approached Carter at the bar. Asha refused to back down, even though Carter made it clear he wasn’t interested.

You may wonder how I came to my conclusion although I was seated some distance from them. Well, lets just say, I’m a pro at interpreting body language. I observed the entire thing and was two seconds from taking Ms. Thing down.

I,  for one don’t take too kindly to people attacking my family, either verbally or physically. If you want to get a rise out of me, just approach my loved one wrong. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t believe how calm Matthew was once I pointed out Asha’s aggression against, Carter. Perhaps Matthew reacted the way he did to quell any angst Tayrn may have been feeling, but I wasn’t so mindful. I wanted Taryn to see just what Asha was up to. I’m a firm believer one must nip trouble in the bud and with Asha, I intended to do just that.

The Anatomy of A Stalker: Meet Taryn Givens

one eyeThe day I met Carter, I could tell he was not only confident but a little full of himself too. He walked into the Hotel Jefferson that morning like he owned the place. I was brand new to my job and had not previously made his acquaintance but it was obvious everyone knew him and although Carter was a bit pretentious, he was likable.

When he handed me his business card and asked me to give him a call, I presumed he was just another man after a booty call. You see, my bottom half is one of my best assets and Carter didn’t hide the fact, he liked what he saw. Although I allowed sometime to pass before I called him, I’m so happy I did.

The problems with the crazed woman who decided she wanted my man came out of nowhere and when I finally had enough, I challenged Carter to call her on her behavior or I would. You see, most people mistake my petite frame and soft spoken mannerism as a sign of weakness. They are, however, sadly mistaken. Like my Carter, I’m a pit bull in the boardroom and outside of, if need be.

It was no problem finding that insane female and eliminating the issue once and for all. Perhaps Carter and Matthew felt assigning Jude to watch over me was necessary for my protection and I’m happy they did. I just want them and anyone who chooses to challenge my loyalty to my man to understand, whenever it comes down to it, I can rumble a little bit.

The Anatomy of a Stalker: Meet Elise Marie Daniels

one eye

Hello, I am Elise M. Daniels and I’m the personal executive secretary to J. Carter Woodson. There was a time when, Carter wanted more, but I knew better than to open that “Pandora’s Box.” Sometimes it’s best to keep business and personal relationships separate, especially since I enjoy my job. I knew if Carter and I hooked up and it didn’t workout, I’d have to find another position but at this time, that’s neither here nor there.

Although Carter is only my immediate boss, I’m fiercely protective of him. When the gifts and flowers for Carter began to mysteriously appear at the office, I knew something was wrong. He finally confided in me the situation and I had to conceal my true feelings. You see Carter has a lady friend whom I like but when I became privy to this secret admirer, I was ready to kick some butt.

Who is this Asha Carrington and where did she come from? Perhaps, I’m old school but I believe any man in a relationship is off limits, specifically if he makes it clear he’s uninterested. But Asha would not take no for an answer. The day she popped into our office to see Carter, I intentionally left his office door open; something I never do. Carter nor Matthew is aware that I have a permit to carry a gun and I never leave home without it. Had the need arose, I would have handled things.

Carter never dreamed he would have to look over his shoulder until he met Asha. A woman with alluring eyes and a mysterious past who will stop at nothing until she has him. Follow Carter’s and Asha’s tumultuous journey in The Prey.
